Appears: 35–40 Actual Age: Approximately 60
Occupation: Agent of Angelika’s Grandfather
Objective : Contain the power of humans as they die and their souls move onward.
Primary Magic: Sound and Wind Magic through Obryn Moonblood
Status: Main Antagonist of the novel
Appearance: Height: 6’0”, very pale, Dark brown hair with streaks of silver, eyes storm grey, scar on right side of chin.
Distinctive Features: Clothes constantly shifting in wind, voice comes from multiple directions.
Clothing: Long charcoal-gray coat, black shirt, dark trousers, and an amber stone on a chain. The stone allows Obryn to monitor him.
Personality: Mistral is intelligent, patient, loyal and persuasive.· He is resourceful and charismatic. He is manipulative, fanatical in his belief Obryn is right.
Believes: If people die to save someone important, then the deaths are justified. Suffering is only not justified when you do not reach your goal.
Relationship with Obryn
Years ago Obryn murdered Mistral’s parents to obtain the power from their souls. , he was left alone. Obryn gave helped him by giving him food, clothing and shelter. Obryn treated Mistral as part of his family. Obryn’s wife was kind to him.·
When Mistral was old enough, Obryn employed him as a guard.
·Mistral vowed early on to serve Obryn. He did not know Obryn killed his father.
Relationship with Angelika
Mistral was introduced to Angelika when she was young. Angelika has not seen him for some time, but eventually she recognizes his voice as the voice on Erudus extracting souls.
Mistral Views Angelika As
Obryn’s heir, and a tool that Obryn uses to progress his plan.
Mid novel he sees Angelika as a traitor.
·Near the end of the novel, he sees that they are not so different.
Relationship with Jynx
Jynx hates Mistral immediately. Her and senses his trapped soul and corruption.
Jynx repeatedly ruins Mistral’s plans.
