Meteor showers are very special to magical beings. While most people look up at meteors with awe and then forget what them, masters of all the 13 types of magic gather where meteor showers occur. They do this to increase the energy of charms and enhance their ability to understand people that come into their life.
When meteors fall it is thought that they cleanse the universe and transition in a period of great change. Newcomers that are met within a moon of the meteor’s descent, are thought to be in alignment with a magical being’s power field. They are destined to partner with the individual and create enormous beneficial changes in their life.
Often the rock and metal remnants of meteorites are collected and revered. The largest stones have spent the most time in the void of the universe. It is believed that they gathered small particles from the void as they sped through space. These particles are so small that it took humanity millions of years to understand that they are there, and that they resonate and amplify powers.
The larger meteorites are used to amplify powers by magical beings so that they can protect planets and fleets of stellar vehicles. In rare cases they are also used to stop weather events that are causing massive destruction.
Minor meteorites, or star shards, are used by magical beings for personal protection, and to protect those they have meaningful relationships with. People often wear meteorites on chains as talismans.
Note: Sky shards fall nightly on Erudus. They are so common that everyone has a good chance to find one.
Sky shards on Erudus are indigo, oat, aubergine and alabaster. Really rare sky shards come in the color moss.
Moss shards are considered extremely lucky and are bought by wealthy individuals, especially in the western region of Erudus. Moon circles are created when the buyer of shard, invites four men or women to dance and sing under a new moon. They move counterclockwise in a circle on one of the great ruins. If the aurora is especially bright that night, they believe that the right environment is fertile for the owner of the sky shard to meet her ideal partner. Truthfully, sky shards do not have power in themselves. Magic comes from the individuals that use them.
