What are Protective Plants?
Plants, shrubs, trees and herbs have been used throughout history to make spells and perform rituals. Since the power of the universe lives withing living beings, plant magic is one of the most powerful in the universe.
Earthen magic sometimes uses plant spell-craft as an underlying base to learn how to master the environment.
Plant Language
Energy is Language, especially for plants. Plants communicate with each other by sharing electrical energy through their roots and leaves. When they “talk” to each other, they share what is happening in their environment and learn to adapt more quickly to changing conditions.
Protection SpellCraft
Protection SpellCraft deals with plants that protect the user from something. There are as many types of protection available as there are plants. In some cases plants in their rawest form provide protection to individuals, when they pick the plants leaves and carry them on their person. Some true protection plants are in the Infogram below.
On of the most common true protection plants on the Spineback Mountain Range is ZazzyMane Grass. The grass confuses negative people and turns the away. Magas often use ZazzyMane as a form of protection as they travel around the mountains. They believe that the plants energy will confuse evil.
ZazzyMane grass is also confusing to Wazzycats. Although the cats love to sit in the grass and scratch their fur on its branches, the smell of the plant often confuses their minds. It takes several hours for this effect to wear off.
Sighing Sage is another protective plant that grows on the mountains. When its leaves are burned the plant calms restless spirits. Sighing sage is often used by those who work with ghosts and other supernatural beings.
Star Thistle
Star Thistle is a flower that is often used to create banishing spells. magas also use it to shield their energy from magical beings attempting to steal their power.
Star Thistle has a star shaped blossom with prickly branches. It grows upwards through crevices in stones. It is a bi-sol plant(it blooms for a sol and then sleeps for a sol).
Young dragons eat Star Thistle to shield their minds from being the collective mind of the dragon community. It takes several years for a young dragon to be able to absorb all dragon minds at once and Star Thistle allows them to gradually do this.
Protective Plants and Spells.
All spells contain some plants. Protective plants are sought after for almost all of the powerful spells that can be created. Their protective abilities, allow spells to bubble, without their volatile energy exploding. Protective plants effectively insulate the maga against harm.
